Our Home Away From Home

We arrived safe and sound about a week ago. This is where we will remain for the winter months ahead. We will fly home to Minnesota for 8 days at Christmas to see family.,,,then back to our temporary home  here in Pompano Beach.

So far we are delighted with our condo, the people and our surroundings. There are only 32 units here so it is a nice size. We have people to talk with, swim with, play cards with and everyone is friendly.

Here are photos of our new space here in Florida. It did not take us long to realize we will be very comfortable in this condo. The owners are great people and we are having dinner with them tomorrow night. There is a ton of storage, nice clean floors and lots of windows. There is a small porch in the front where the sun shines in. Many fans and good AC keep us cool. The bathroom shower is great and a mirror covers almost all of the wall over the sink. The bedroom walk-in closet is large with hanging space all around and lots of hangers and shelving. Linens are plentiful and nice. Truly, everything one would need or want is here…..very nicely furnished and supplied. We were amazed as it is all first quality

Lucky? Indeed, we are and lucky that Phil is an awesome “travel agent.”  He definitely has a talent for finding great places for our adventures.

A kitchen with everything one could possibly want or need. It looks a bit dark in this photo, but it is bright.
At home in MN, our family room table becomes Phil’s second office. I wonder how long it will take here!!!!
Beautiful green sheer window treatments with wooden blinds. First class for sure.
The bed made quickly as we were on our way out the door.
I am so happy to have a bedside lamp that telescopes out for reading.
This pool is 6 feet deep and so warm…about 84-86 degrees. Wonderful! Can’t hardly keep Phil out of it. .
The American Flag flies by the pool.
I just got a haircut from woman called Rosa Maria….owns her own salon and came from Peru to America many years ago. Sweetheart of a woman who gives a great haircut.
Phill’s “office!”
My “office!”

On Sunday, we begin another adventure. A 7-day cruise beginning at Fort Lauderdale where we board the ship. Our first Port is Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic. We have already contacted Pablo, our friend there. He will meet us at the Port. It will be especially nice to see him again. We made many friends when we used to spend time in the DR and Pablo has continued to keep in touch over the past years. Pablo is a very honorable family  man.

Our next Port will be San Juan in Puerto Rico, then on to the American Island of St. Thomas. Before heading back to Fort Lauderdale, our last Port will be Half Moon Cay on Little San Salvador Island in the Bahamas.

I just asked Phil how many square feet this condo was; he said he didn’t know so we counted the 12 inch square tiles both directions and it multiplied to 1400 square feet. That is a great size for us for 6 months.

That is it for this Blog. Just wanted to show you where we are spending our winter months. Will be touch again soon. Wishing all of you good health and fun adventures.
