Wishing all of my Blog Readers a very Happy Thanksgiving. My wish is that you will be enjoying the traditional turkey, dressing and cranberries, or whatever is your menu, and that you are warm and happy celebrating all we have to be thankful for with family and friends. Phil and I are in Florida, but send our wishes to everyone we know and love. We began our winter travels a weeks ago and will return to Minnesota on December 18.
And yes, we spent 15-hours at Walt Disney’s Magic Kingdom yesterday. We left our motel just after 8 am and arrived back to the motel just after midnight. It was a loooooooong day for these two old people. Phil is amazing how he can walk, walk, walk. Those legs of his are strong from frequent swimming. A few times I felt he was “dragging me”, but we did every attraction except having our photo taken with the Princess. I couldn’t talk Phil into that!!!
Cinderella’s Castle was, as always, a highlight for me. While some say 200,000 lights and others say over a million, there is no doubt it is a beautiful sight. Breathtakingly beautiful!! It took 18 months to construct it to its 189 feet. It is made of steel and concrete with spires, turrets and blue rootops, which optically fool people into “seeing” a castle much higher than it is.
Last Thursday, we spent the day at Epcot with friends who came to visit us in Orlando, specifically Kissimmee, which is where we are staying. Epcot was not a 15-hour day, but it was cold at night as we watched the world roll across the water when the fireworks were displayed.
Tomorrow we will head to the West Coast of Florida. We have friends to visit there and we look forward to seeing them.
Have a couple of subjects I will be writing about in my next Blogs so check your emails and hopefully you will enjoy the Blogs I have coming your way. Please feel free to send them on to people you think may also find them interesting. And if you would like to add someone to my distribution list, just send that email address to me.
Be well,
Anne
