If you are in Ft Lauderdale, Florida May through October, Truluck’s is the place to go for your Stone Crab dinner. The crabs are served cold on a bed of crushed ice with a mustard-of-some-sort sauce for dipping. I found them tasty without using the sauce. n interesting fact about stone crabs is that only one claw is pulled from the crab and after a year, the crab grows a new claw….bigger and stronger than the one removed. One needs a bath after eating them as it is a matter of fingers-to-mouth operation. If ever you are there, mention Phil’s name and you can be sure they will remember him!!!
